From Edinburgh, the simplest way is to cross the Forth Road Bridge and take the A90/M90 to junction 1 (Admiralty), the A985/A921 exit signposted Kincardine/Dalgety Bay/Inverkeithing. At the exit roundabout, take the 3rd exit (right, and under the motorway) onto the A921.

Continue east on the A921 for a total of 7.7 miles, always choosing to go straight on! You’ll go past Inverkeithing (one double roundabout; one set of traffic lights) and Dalgety Bay (two roundabouts close together, then one at the junction with the B9157 to Kirkcaldy), and through Aberdour. Keep following the A921 coast road to Burntisland, where you go through the first roundabout, and continue along Aberdour Road to a second roundabout, the junction with the A909 and B923. The A921 is the third exit (right) onto Cromwell Road, and you’ll be able to see St Serf’s Church on the left 100m down the hill, at the junction with Ferguson Place.

From Dunfermline and the north, head south on the M90, leaving the motorway at junction 1 (Admiralty) on the slip road marked Inverkeithing. Take the first exit onto the A921 and follow the second paragraph of the directions from Edinburgh.

From Kirkcaldy and the east, take the A921 westbound and continue along the coast through Kinghorn to Burntisland. At the roundabout at the end of the links, take the third exit up the hill (Cromwell Road). St Serf’s Church is almost at the top of the hill on your right on the junction with Ferguson Place.

Safe travelling!

Street car parking is extremely limited, but adequate car parking will be available at Burntisland Primary School which is only a short walk from the church. Their car park entrance is 200m along the B923 (Kirkcaldy Road) from the roundabout at the junction with the A921.

If you prefer to come by public transport, the Church is within 5 minutes walk of the No.7 and No.57 bus routes, and about three-quarters of a mile (under 15 minutes) walk away from Burntisland railway station. You can plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
