The singers in the Voskresenije Choir are on the road for six/eight weeks at a time, and very much welcome being able to relax and enjoy the hospitality of host families.  As the two West Fife concerts are on consecutive days, and relatively close together, we are suggesting to the choir that they stay for two nights in the same home , rather than move on. So we are looking for folk who could commit to:

  • Meeting your guest(s) at St Serf’s during the afternoon of Thursday 17 November (where they will get set up for the concert and enjoy some food and drink).
  • If there is time, taking them to your home to leave their luggage and take a rest.
  • Bringing them back to St Serf’s in time for the concert.
  • Taking them back home for a late meal and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast the next morning (Friday 18 November), taking your guest(s) to Rosyth Methodist Church, from where they will set off for whatever activity the choir has planned (hosts will not be involved in this).
  • After the choir has set up for the evening’s concert and been fed/watered, collecting your guest(s) from Rosyth Methodist Church and taking them home to rest before the concert.
  • Bringing them back to St Margaret’s in time for the concert.
  • Taking them back home for a late meal and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast on the morning of Saturday 19 November, taking your guest(s) to Rosyth Methodist Church to board the choir minibus

5633cc_110hDo you remember the wonderful deep bass sounds that this man produced back in 2011 and 2012? If so, there’s good news for you: Jurij Maruk will be bringing his Voskresenije Choir (the name means Resurrection) back to Rosyth for another concert combining music from the Orthodox Church tradition and Russian folk songs at 7.30pm on Friday 18 November. Keep the date free, and pass on the news. More details, and an opportunity to book, coming after the summer break.
